Steinway Gallery Singapore is organizing a series of Rising Star concerts featuring TOP rising talents. Steinway’s Rising Stars Concert series strives to provide a platform for emerging performers to showcase their craft across all music genres. It is a unique and experimental musical set-up to identify and nurture a vibrant music community in Singapore.
This 24th July, Steinway Gallery is proud to organize a CD launch recital for Azarian Tan.

About Azariah
Azariah Tan, 26, graduated with a Doctor in Musical Arts in Piano Performance from University of Michigan, under the guidance of Dr. Logan Skelton. The National Arts Council-Conservatory scholar and President’s Young Performer, was placed on the Dean’s List multiple times at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music where he did his undergraduate studies with Albert Tiu and graduated with first-class honors in 2011. He went on to study at the Earl V. Moore School of Music, University of Michigan, where he graduated with two Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance and in Chamber Music, as well as being nominated by the piano department for the Earl V. Moore Award.
Though diagnosed with a bilateral sensorineural hearing loss at the age of four, Azariah went on to be an awarding-winning
pianists, graduating from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music with First-Class Honors and achieving a Doctor in
Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance at the Rackham Graduate School, the University of Michigan at a tender age of 25.

In this release, of exclusively Chopin’s solo piano music, this collection is the best introduction to Azariah’s genius.
Proceeds of the CD sales will go to VERY SPECIAL ARTS Singapore Ltd.
The Very Special Arts Singapore Ltd is a local charity organization dedicated to providing opportunities for people with disabilities to be involved in the arts. For the past 24 years, VSA Singapore has been running successful art programmes, workshops, competitions and art exhibitions for the special needs community, creating awareness among members of the public of their immense talent and resilience.
