CONCERT AT THE ELBPHILHARMONIE

Slovak conductor Juraj Valčuha, Hamburg-based Russian pianist Anna Vinnitskaya and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra will be joining forces to bring “The Great Sergeis” to the stage. The first Sergei (Rachmaninoff), an acclaimed virtuoso himself, wrote four remarkably beautiful and challenging piano concertos. In celebration of Rachmaninoff’s 150th anniversary, Vinnitskaya will be performing the Concerto No. 2 in C minor with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra. The second Sergei (Prokofiev), in turn, created a celebration for every orchestra with his monumental Fifth Symphony, dedicated to the “Triumph of the Human Spirit”.

HARBOUR TOUR

Set sail on the river Elbe for an exciting journey across the famous port of Hamburg, known as the “gateway to the world”. Cruise past the historical warehouse district of Speicherstadt and the contemporary Hafen City where you can witness the Elbphilharmonie in all its glory. Complete this unique experience with a delicious lunch on the water.

THE BRAHMS MUSEUM

In this exhibition of the life and works of the famous composer Johannes Brahms in a historical 18th-century buildling, the Museum has its prime focus on the almost 3 decades in which the young Brahms in Hamburg received his musical training as a pianist and composer, creating at this early stage brilliant works. Displayed in the museum are musical works, writings, concert programmes, artefacts, photographs and sculptures of Brahms. A further highlight of the Museum is a square piano, manufactured in 1851, on which Brahms himself gave piano tuition.

STEINWAY FESTIVAL CONCERT

For the 20th time International Steinway Festival welcomes young talents from all corners of the world to come together for a musical exchange. The festival concert will be held at the beautiful Laeiszhalle concert hall, showcasing up-and-coming pianists, each of them proud winners of their regional Steinway Youth Piano Competition 2022. The Laeiszhalle is an important neo-Baroque landmark in Hamburg with 115 years of history. With its unique glass ceiling and magnificent interior, the Laeiszhalle is famous not only for its excellent acoustics, but also for its architecture and ambience.
