STEINWAY & SONS ELBPHILHARMONIE LIMITED EDITION

The Elbphilharmonie and Steinway & Sons — two names that stand for excellence in music and cultural value. With this Limited Edition of eight grand pianos, Steinway & Sons celebrates the new cultural landmark of the city of Hamburg and offers exclusive and unique instruments for lovers of music and design.

Iconic design elements from the Elbphilharmonie are recalled in the instruments: the silhouette of the music desk, the dot matrix of the windows on the inside of the lid and the upholstery from the seats in the Grand Hall found on the matching piano bench.

BEHIND THE EDITION

Thanks to the godparentship of great pianists, each grand piano receives its unique touch. And the cooperation with the Elbphilharmonie goes beyond design: 20,000 euros from each sold instrument will be donated to the Elbphilharmonie foundation earmarked toward the music education program for children, youth and families.

The grand pianos of the Elphilharmonie Limited Edition were lovingly crafted in the Steinway & Sons Hamburg Factory with the utmost precision and passion. Unique design elements combine for a fascinating collection, notably the airbrushed replica of the circular Elbphilarhmonie windows inside the lid.

Five of the eight Steinway grands are equipped with SPIRIO, the world’s finest high-resolution player piano that permits the listener to experience artists live from the comfort of home.

“The most beautiful thing about this Steinway Limited Edition for me is its goal: the support of the Elbphilharmonie Foundation — and, from that, the support of young artists.”

THE MODELS

The pianos of the Steinway & Sons Elbphilharmonie Limited Edition are available in two different versions. Both feature the silhouette of the Elbphilharmonie in the music stand and feature the circular window grid inside the lid. The logo of the Elbphilharmonie on the fallboard and the piano bench knobs, with chrome-plated fittings, a silver-colored cast-iron plate, and the black interior rim complete the look.

Elbphilharmonie Grand Piano B-211 Black

An elegant black music desk and the gray mottled fabric of the seats of the Great Hall on the piano bench — these are the special features of the black glossy version of the Steinway & Sons Elbphilharmonie Limited Edition grand. The B-211 is also available as a SPIRIO, the world’s finest high-resolution player piano.

Elbphilharmonie Grand Piano B-211 Oak

The second variant of the Elbphilharmonie grand piano was the planed, soaped oak, used in the foyer of the Elbphilharmonie, and here for the music desk and the bench. The B-211 is also available as a SPIRIO, the world’s finest high-resolution player piano.
